Be A Critic Volume 6

BeaBae

The Color Yellow.
I have never created something out of nothing.
Really, it's not that.
Something from nothing is something that is impossible. Conservation of mass. Conservation of energy. Never created, never destroyed: merely transferred.
So really, I've never made Art—something out of nothing is something I've heard a lot.
Renown Artist John Doe creates fantastical images on pure blank canvases in a true work of magic, bringing beauty and emotion from where there was once nothingness—
It's rearranging colors.
-The color was in the tube. Now it is on the page, mixed with water and hair particles.
-The letters on the page are the same dots on the computer screen as always. Their light refraction just changed, creating the appearance of color.
-Yellow is red and green side by side on my computer screen: an optical illusion; a trick of the light.
And I play Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites on loop  and sound makes 3D ripples in the air. There's sound and friction and heat.
Dear Betty,
(letters collected by an anonymous chronicler, sent over a duration of two years, beginning shortly before and continuing through the the twelfth border war between the kingdoms of Yettobenamèd and Altern, and ending half a year following the close of the war shortly after the crippling of Crown Prince James III)

Dear Betty,
It's only been a few weeks but I really miss you already. It's much colder in the north and I don't think I've ever been this cold before, but Mr. Renault says that we're still in the north, even though we've been traveling south. I don't know what he means, exactly, since I thought what wasn't north was the south, but he knows more than me so I think just nodding and agreeing is probably the best idea. He's a very nice man, I think, but he's very scary sometimes too.
We've made it out of the desert. It's been a while since we were out of the desert, actually. I don't think I've ever seen so much green in one place. I pressed some of the flowers I found and s

Awesome! It's real simple to sign up.  Just drop me a note with the thumbcodes to three of your deviations you'd like to receive feedback on.  Prose, poetry, scripts, anything!  But, before you send me the note, please make sure that the deviations you're choosing have a couple questions in the author's comments.  It's much easier to give feedback on something if you know what the author isn't sure about.

*Commenting/critiquing on more than one of the deviations will increase your odds of winning. There is a strict limit of three entries per deviant.
**A Comment is a few lines, possibly a paragraph, about your opinion of the story.  It usually includes something that you really liked and should include at least one thing that can be improved.  A Critique is many paragraphs about the deviation and will include both personal opinion as well as correction to technical errors.
