PE: Poetry Basics Wrap Up

Sun Nov 24, 2013, 7:52 PM
As projecteducate 's Poetry Basics weeks comes to a close, hopefully we're all a little more knowledgeable about the simple and complicated art of creating wonderful poetry. It's been an awesome journey with just as awesome advice along the way. Everything from terminology to proper ways to pull ideas of your brain and put them on paper were covered. Simple is better but often time quite hard to accomplish with the message you're trying to get across.  Well, at least for those of us not well versed in the poetry lingo, styles or forms.

Let's do a recap of what we learned this week:

Bullet; Blue Introducing Poetry Basics Week

Bullet; Blue Poetry Basics : Brevity

Bullet; Blue Poetic Terms and Techniques

Bullet; Blue Effective Imagery in Poetry

Bullet; Blue How to Get Published

Bullet; Blue Assonance and Consonance

Bullet; Blue Emotions in Poetry

Bullet; Blue Specific Imagery: What Makes a Good Poem?

Bullet; Blue Choosing a Fixed Form for Your Poem

Bullet; Blue The Music of Language : Prosody

A Special Thank You

For all the article writers that helped us this week, you're all awesome and we couldn't have done this without you!

A Few Talking Points Before We Leave:

Bullet; Blue What was the one thing you'll walk away from this week knowing that you didn't know before?
Bullet; Blue If you weren't a poet before, do you feel you're better equipped to be one now?
Bullet; Blue If you were a poet before, do you feel you'll be able to approach your craft differently and more effectively now?

A closing blog for %projecteducate 's and %CRLiterature 's Poetry Basics Week.

 this was really fun, thanks for inviting me to it.

Already being a poet, I still feel this week helped. Both writing an article for it, and reading the other ones. You never know enough when it comes to writing. :nuu:

We were happy to have you.

I'm not a poet, so I was really wondering how this week effected people like you.  And I'm happy we were able to show you something new.  :la:

Oh, it definitely was helpful. Especially because I'm not a native speaker so all these things that I learned already, I never learned them in English so the different language is a whole different perspective too. It's very helpful, and it makes me kind of wish we could make collections of these in different languages for the writers on dA that don't write in English.
